Its a Logitech MX400 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/devices/191&cl=us,en)
USB mouse... About 1 year old.
Disconneted it and reconneted it per suggestion, but with no luck. Will see if I have a spare mouse lying around to try a switch... I am doubful that it is a driver issue ...

It seems that something recent has changed on Alleg. for me. I haven't installed any new drivers nor new programs on my computer, but my mouse has been really screwing up the past week or two... to the point that I really cannot play.
