Don't know how to get rid of HUD, but you can set the resolution for alleg to whatever you want in the registry.

You find the current alleg registry at [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Allegiance\1.2] (leave out the 6432Node part if you're not on 64 bit system)

Lt boost will not improve tfs initial performance by much - mostly because most of your scouts have to stick with the cons until they plant anyway, and lt boost offers only weak acceleration - it is not a combat booster.
