I know it's been a month so first I have to apologize for the bump and for seemingly giving up. But I didn't give up; I finally got it working and I had to thank you guys for all the help.

Sorry for my absence, went away for a long weekend.

How do I change my router settings? Will I need my router's password?

I'll definitely look into that. I don't mind torrenting anything. I wind up with GBs of useless downloads all the time, so I'm used to it.

Right now though I thought I'd mention that somehow windows update just sort of, updated. Apparently somewhere along the road I managed to fix something enough ...

I did the SFC scan thing, and it informed me that it couldn't repair some of the files. But when I tried to view the SFC log it denied me permission. I was running command prompt as an administrator. If it did repair some files, it has seemingly changed nothing.

Now, by cleaning up those folders, do you mean delete everything in them?

So, I went there and did the unregister register thing through 'Run...'. But when I went to the installer folder they mentioned in methods 1&3 I didn't see anything regarding net 2.0, only 1.1. Also after doing the command ...

But I didn't see 2.0 anywhere in the add/remove programs list (and I just double checked to be sure). But at the same time the installer said I already had it and couldn't install it again.

Whoops, I was looking under N for Net 2.0. Instead of M for Microsoft .net Framework.

Although actually, now I don't see it. I see 1.1 and 3.5. It said I already had it when I tried to install net 2.0, but could it have been referring to either of these?

>_> Great. Should I just uninstall one/both ...
