Server crashed :(

Are there any stability issues with AllSrv? I've restarted the service for now.

Also I'd left TAG out for now, whilst I just got the damn server running :) It's installed now, let me know if it's not working.

There were a couple of last minute teething issues with the server (the VM install, not AllSrv).

Will have them sorted out shortly, and then it should be smooth sailing

edit - should be running now :) let me know if there are any issues..

QUOTE (w0dk4 @ Feb 11 2009, 07:42 PM) You are aware the 3FL servers are running in the beta lobby and not the main lobby, right?

Yes, as of today because I finally got a chance to setup the XP server in a VM and get AllSrv running. The machine is on a new IP that TE needs to approve. I pointed it ...

QUOTE (Dogbones @ Feb 8 2009, 06:58 PM) Why not run Win XP (or even NT) in a VM on the Win2008 server box instead of 'throwing up a linux box or something'?

Throwing a VM up on a linux box I said.. the blade chassis holding the 2k8 server also has 9 linux servers, a couple of which are basically ...

QUOTE (Striker @ Feb 5 2009, 09:45 PM) This might be a good time to take a break and contact Tigereye regarding the issue.

I'm speaking to him aswell :)

It may be a problem with AllSrv running on Win2008Server. I've just installed the server app on my work desktop and it started and attempted ...

QUOTE (Aaron Moore @ Feb 5 2009, 07:35 PM) Cool, thanks for that wob.

If your'e still only getting that one line in the logs, I wonder if its possible the AGC DLL isn't registered properly, or if it's having issues (stalling) initialising DirectPlay....

Maybe try re-registering the server ...

I've just blown it all away and started again.

QUOTE The way I install the server is by:

Ah, I was worried this was the log file:

Code: Select all

02/03 11:20:12.959 Debug level set from 1 to 2.
That's all it contains. One entry from 3 days ago.

If someone could just point me at some logs anywhere I could probably figure it out.

All I have right now is the service showing as active in the list, and the registry settings I copied out of the running a server thread (and customized obviously :P )

I'm pretty sure it's most likely I've done something wrong.

Been watching the server and messing about with settings, every time I restart it I don't see any attempts to contact a lobby server (or any remote server for that matter).

Any server admins want to have a chat? :)

It may be that it ...
