Well guys don't bother with the Saitek St290 Pro either, I had one of those when I played Targetware, and the thing works great for about 3 months, then it slowly starts getting loose till one day 4 months later when the handle falls completely off the base

I find logitech sticks at the thrift store I go to all the time. Usually for about $8- $12

One way i have learned to stay alive longer is stay ina group, just like in a flight sim, there's safety in numbers, accept or decline orders as they come in, never try to attack a capital ship (trust me on that one)
