This problem is all about "I'm so cool that I cannot fly for that guy, because I'll lose my precious HELO". Personally I don't care who is in the com chair (i got some personal exceptions tho), if I want to play and the game is unbalanced I always join the unstack. I really hate unbalanced...

Another thing, in all this GUIs there is always a default selection, when you load the page, there is a blank square at the middle waiting for you to press the first tab at the right, that looks poor, I suggest you select the "faction" tab by default.

Change the ligthning icon for this icon -->" ", so they don't actually see them, and problem solved. The tool icon could be confused for a mechanical upgrade for their ship!!!

I use joystick... BUT if your joystick has a huge deadzone, as a lot of them have, you will find it almost useless to play. There are few cheap JS, like Logitech ones that have a good response.

Well I think there is a reason why I don't see real airplanes, ships, etc. using mice instead of stick...
