It's not where you are, it's the company. I'm always with myself so I love the company. ninja.gif

Autobiography in 5 chapters by Portia Nelson

Posted by Idanmel, Jun 10 2009, 10:21 AM

1) I walk down a street.
There's a deep hole in the pavement;
I fall in.
I'm lost... I'm helpless.
It's not my fault.
It takes me forever to find a way out.

2) I walk down the same street.
There's a deep hole in the pavement;
I pretend not to notice it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I got here again.
But it's not my fault.
It takes me forever to get out again.

3) I walk down the same street.
There's a deep hole in the pavement;
I see it.
I still fall in... Force of habit.
My eyes are open;
I know where I am.
It's my fault.
I climb right out.

4) I walk down the same street.
There's a deep hole in the pavement;
I bypass it.

5) I walk down a different road.

Two Monks

Posted by Idanmel, May 7 2009, 07:35 PM

Two monks go on a journey. After walking for a few days, they come to a river where they see a young girl with her wedding dress unable to cross the river without ruining her dress. One of the monks then carries her on his shoulders, cross the river and drops her off on the other side.

The two monks continue walking and after a few hours suddenly the other monk says, "What you have done was wrong, it's a bad thing for a monk to touch a girl, it's against our religion". Hearing this, the monk replies...

"I dropped the girl at the river bank a long time ago, why are you still carrying her around?"

"I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store.
For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.
I worked for a menialís hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid."

QUOTE("George Bernard Shaw")
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress
depends on the unreasonable man.

Fun is good

Did you ever fly a kite in bed?
Did you ever walk with 10 cats on your head?
Did you ever milk this kind of cow?
Well, we can do it, we know how!

If you never did these things, you should.
These things are fun, and fun is good.

- Dr. Seuss.
