I didn't find much info about it on these forums, but thank you to whoever created that persistent "Superbotmatch" game that is auto launching itself with 18 bots. I had requested almost exactly what you developed and would like to make good use of it.

We could use this to set up a long term conflict between two persistent sides, blue and yellow. It would also give people a reason and ability to log in and play almost any time of day. we could probably do it without any programming changes to super bot match.

We could start keeping score of wins and losses manually and posting a sort of simplified score to the forum. As I brainstorm it, the confict and victory conditions could work like this: A game on the Superbotmath server would be considered a draw for scoring purposes if it lasts 3 hours or more; and a win/loss if someone wins it before that. Each minute less than 180 minutes, creates adds a score of +1 to the winner and -1 to the loser. Players who observe the end of such a game could report its results to the forum. And this "how long did you hold out" type of score would give the losing team in each game something to fight for while giving urgency to the winning team.

Example 1:
It's the first game in the conflict.
It lasts 2 hours exactly.
Yellow wins.
Yellow thus gets a score of +60 (180 minutes deadline minus the 120 it took to win)
Blue gets a score of -60

Example 2:
Second game in the conflict
Lasts 1 hour exactly.
Blue wins.
Blue thus gets a score of +120.
Yellow gets a score of -120

Example 3: Third game in conflict.
Blue wins with a score of +100.
Yellow automatically thus gets a score of -100

Example 4: No one sees it end. No score recorded.

Someone reports the date and time of each game's end, and its score, to the forum. at the end of example 4, yellow would, in the persistent conflict, have a total score at that point of -160
blue would have +160.

First side to reach, say, +2000 could be considered the winner of the weeks-long conflict.

I'm ready to start this , by simply jumping in and starting to track the score. I'd just need 1 or two of you to be willing start fighting on the opposite side and reporting your victories etc. since i'll be both a combatant and a scorekeeper thats a conflict of interest, but at least it can be mitigated by having the same conflict of interest on the other side. later maybe we can have independent referees or automated tracking of the game's winners/losers/lenghts.

It might help if the whoever runs this botgame were to increase the max team imbalance to 2. Otherwise someone from , say, blue team, might find they have to wait for an hour to join their team.

What are your thoughts? Do I have a vounteer to fight me? If so , which side do you want to be on so i can join the opposite side?

BackTrak programmed and made the Superbot server. He also provides the US servers for our use. Feel free to send him a thank you PM.
Xynth put together the program to track Allegiance stats (wins/losses/points/etc.) Fell free to contact him to discuss your idea.
They can both be reached here and on Discord, sometimes BackTrak takes a while to reply to PMs.

Good luck

I'd be thrilled if superbot and perpetual could be combined. make the bots shoot stuff and bomb.

I was thinking the same.

Also a smaller map, similar to the one used at the training mission.

Perhaps a tower defender style of mod where endless waves of ships attack your team? Increasingly stronger ships and better aiming bots each wave? It might be popular.

Imagine the excitement when in the endgame 10 bomber bots attack your last base, each with 5 nan scouts and an escort of 20 ints.

I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when Grendelwolf and I wanted to check out Allegiance again. The Superbot server let us play a little bit with our nostalgia.

Wopr (the thing running SuperBotMatch) is still a work in progress, this edition is focused on solving the "who wants to be commander" issue, so that you can just jump into a game and not have to worry about expansion and research (and scouting! :) . Future editions will add in the combat found in the pigs death match, but I haven't had a lot of time to work on it lately. The code for the whole thing can be found in the Allegiance github with the solution here:

Thanks!
