Does anyone else feel like vomitting when they see $#@!ing @#(!bag politicians with bleached teeth offering worthless, $#@!ing meaningless, vacuous "Thoughts and Prayers" to victims of these $#@!ing unimaginable horror shows?

The next worst piece of bull@#(! trotted out without thought is thanking the wonderful First Responders for their selfless acts of bravery and courage yada yada yada. The answer is do something to stop your brave First Responders from having to constantly put themselves in avoidable harms way. The $#@!ing morons who say these meaningless, rote inanities should be held as criminally responsible if they have the power to do something, but choose to make that thing saying bull@#(! platitudes.

DO SOMETHING. If the kids who are the potential victims of this relentless inaction had votes, you can bet they would be voting for something (anything) to happen.

Arm everybody arm nobody, who cares? Just campaign to do something that is different from what you are doing now. Because what you are doing now definitely is not working.

Also, it is not too soon to talk about it.

It unbelievably defies explaination. And this is from someone who complies with gun laws, has a safe, sticks to manual loaded long arms, only shoots on private properties and keeps his firearm hobby to himself so he isnt judged as a gun freak .
I dont feel like my rights are violated and i still get to hunt.

Those dead@#(!s spruiking this whole gun culture 2nd ammendment bull@#(! when their leaders and $#@!wits they wont overthrow with guns anyway need to $#@!ing wake up. You can still have guns just jump some hoops ffs

Great stuff vortrog. Your going to have to ask the gun makers to put children ahead of profits. With the supreme court ruling on citizens united v.s. federal election committee, the NRA can now back the brink's truck up to the politicians home. With lobbying the loudest voice heard is the one with the most money. It's a billion dollar industry with shady ceo's that stay out of the spot light. It's not just the money either. Wherever there's a town hall meeting with a politician the nra supporters are right there. There a crafty bunch. Whenever the politicians scare up gun control, the sales of guns skyrocket which makes them more profits.

But if we have adequate gun control how will politicians signal their piety and virtue by offering thoughts and prayers once every three days?

I really don't understand America's resistance to stronger gun laws.
When attacks like this happen it really makes me scratch my head and wonder WTF is wrong with the US?

Well this is essentially what happens in the wake of every school shooting where every liberal cries "thoughts and prayers" on facebook so they can FEEL like they are doing something meaningful and serve a higher purpose in this life than the people who aren't posting the same thing. and then it's followed up with WE NEED GUN CONTROL I DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS BUT I WILL VOTE FOR ANYTHING THAT REMOTELY SUGGESTS THAT IT'S RELATED TO GUN CONTROL IN ANY WAY BECAUSE I WANT TO FEEL LIKE I'M DOING SOMETHING PURPOSEFUL AND THAT I'M A BETTER PERSON THAN OTHERS FOR DOING SO

we get new gun control legislation proposed here in Washington State every year or two in the wake of such a national tragedy and then the population of Seattle and Bellingham arbitrarily cast their support for whatever the legislation is they don't understand/haven't even made an attempt to read. I made the mistake of entering into such a conversation on Facebook last year after the Vegas Mandalay Bay only to discover that most people supporting "gun control" (in a vague sense that doesn't actually mean anything) didn't know what the difference between caliber and capacity is, or literally anything about any type of firearms, the components thereof, the available attachments thereof, the existing laws regulating them/process required to obtain them legally, etc. but by golly they are going to make themselves heard because it's their "right"

every year it's the same thing

WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING WE NEED GUN CONTROL WHY ISN'T ANYONE MAKING GUN CONTROL HAPPEN WHY CAN'T WE JUST BE LIKE CANADA OR AUSTRALIA THAT HAS 1/10 THE POPULATION SIZE AND LIKE 20% MORE OF THEIR POPULATION IS THE SAME RACE (white) AND THE CULTURAL PRIORITIES OF THEIR POPULATION IS ALL EFFECTIVELY THE SAME AND THEY HAVE INFINITELY BETTER ACCESS TO HEALTH/MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES AND LIFE IS NOT NEARLY SO DIFFICULT AND COMPETITIVE FINANCIALLY, CULTURALLY, SEXUALLY AS IT IS IN AMERICA

and there you have it

that being said I find some comfort in knowing I don't live in Britain where people throw acid in each other's faces because they don't have guns with which to shoot

and not to mention that our gun deaths per year are negligible relative to population size

you can handmake firearms. you can 3d print firearms. you can sneak firearms across borders/across the water.

what does anyone really expect to be done to make gun violence magically disappear in america. it's not possible.

congress just have to act like they're sort of trying to do something kind of for the sake of their constituents even though they know that they have extremely limited ability to do anything that actually will affect anything in any significant way

I can't fathom it either. You'd think the entire country could come together and agree that people like Nikolas Cruz shouldn't be allowed to own guns and that we should have some kind of regulation in place to prevent people like him from owning guns.

Instead it's just a bunch of Republicans going *shrug* whelp what can you do, eh? and a bunch of democrats going CLEARLY THE PROBLEM IS THE 30 MAG CLIP AND THE PISTOL GRIP AND THE CARBON FIBER STOCK.

Yeah it seems absurd that he could legally buy one with his background. That being said he could have obtained one by other means if he was really determined to get his hands on one and his background check prevented him from getting one legally. maybe this wouldn't have happened. maybe it would've. who knows
