I'm running Gentoo at work and Fedora on a work laptop. Gentoo for the maximum customization potential (doing updates is something I do to get my mind off things) and Fedora is one of the best out of box experiences for a developer that stays out of your way.
Ubuntu MATE is nice especially for low-spec machines like the raspberry pi 2.

Has anyone used YUMI, to store multiple isos on a pen drive and install them on a hard drive later?

Yes, it's pretty reliable for putting multiple distros on one usb drive.
