Already own it. It's an ok game, but it requires teamwork if you want to achieve anything. So its a bit of a dice roll if you get a decent team.

It's the reason why I'm here now.

You don't just play Allegiance and go back to any other space game and not compare it to Allegiance.

Quick rundown:
5v5 capital ship battles. Ships handle like space whales (or like submarines). No pitch or roll, but you have sidethrusters, can yaw, and can dive/surface. Bases are fixed and cannot be destroyed, but they can be captured by getting near them. There are four types of bases: home bases -- you lose if yours gets captured, forward stations which allow for warp jumps, mining stations which provide resources while owned, and the gas station which is active about every 8 minutes and provides a short bonus to your team if you capture it.After your team hits a resources gathered threshold, your ship can be upgraded by flying into the area of effect of your home base or a friendly forward station. This just gives you a flat bonus to your ship stats. You can also stay in the range of a home base or friendly forward station to repair. Each ship has a role and some abilities that help it fill that role. Ship loadouts can be changed before launch. You cannot change ships/loadout in the middle of a game. There are repair ships, support ships, stealth ambush ships, giant tank ships, and fast attack craft (although "fast" in this game is very relative). Each one generally has a counter and a thing it's good at. There are five sectors: a team home for each team that has the home base and two mining stations, the center sector gamma that has gas, and two lanes (alpha and beta) with three unclaimed mining stations each and a forward base for each team. Warp jumps are not bi-directional. You can warp to gamma from any sector, but from gamma you can only warp to a forward station you control. You can always warp home from any sector. You can only warp to an enemy home sector if you control their forward station in alpha or beta.
The game looks beautiful. Gameplay rewards teamwork, good piloting ability, and good tactical decisions.

Edit: All this game did is remind me that I have a huge void in my heart that was once filled with Allegiance.
