As many of you already know, I banned Metz (Mastametz, SheriffMetz) from Allegiance indefinitely. I did so without consulting the @Alleg enforcement team or pkk. The ban resulted from a culmination of his hateful rhetoric that he has used to attack anyone who does not fall in line with his world view. Metz's hate does not discriminate; even his friends and squadmates have been subjected to numerous personal attacks. I could cite ROC violations as the reason for this ban, but his violations go beyond the rules of Allegiance; even after all these years Metz has proven himself incapable of abiding by the most basic tenets of civilization and respectful discourse.
Metz and I founded NI together, were able to carry on through struggles relating to our squad and Allegiance, and even met once in real life. Metz has no filter. This may work out for him in some instances, but throughout his Allegiance career it's got him into trouble. Personally, I feel like a hypocrite for not stepping in when I witnessed him attack many players throughout the years. I'm also a hypocrite because I have personally attacked some people in my time here, most notably Night, Drizzo, and more recently Metz himself. I am sorry that I did that and will continue to endeavor to grow as a rational, respectful human being.
I've only recently been given the power to use my judgement to enforce the rules of the game, and I take the charge seriously even though our player-base is so low. I did not plan on banning Metz. I did not want to ban Metz, but his lack of respect to me, someone I know he considered a friend was so over the line that he left me with no other recourse. As a community we can't let such bad behavior go on unchecked. I took it upon myself to make a judgement call to exercise the power given to me, and especially in light of his response, I'd do it again.
I made this post as a result of some concern I've received from a couple Allegiance members, and to give Masta a more concrete reason for his ban.
