Hey I'm trying to figure out a way to get in touch with Rick Rashid, the previous leader of Microsoft Research and Allegiance visionary. We want his help to get this game on steam, among other things.

Further, I want to talk to as many old devs as possible and see if they still care about this game.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I tried to research and track down as many of the people who worked on Allegiance back when I put together freespacecombatgame.com. Connected with a small amount of them on twitter (3 I think that may be worth trying to talk to, plus a woman who did voice overs who probably doesn't even remember the game). There is an Allegiance Dev group on Linked In you might possibly be able to get into if you ask solap first. Not sure if any of the devs actually check that group but might be able to message some of them on LinkedIn.

As far as Rick Rashid, good luck. Too high up at Microsoft to easily get in contact with and hardly anyone that worked on Allegiance is still with Microsoft. Not sure if any still have contact.

If Rick is struck enough but what we initially have to say it's possible he could be the voice from Microsoft that gives the go ahead to steam. Pie in the sky of course but why not try. We already have an active lead (friend of high Microsoft exec??) crazy enough.

And the other things include: general interest in Allegiance?; what his plans are; how he can help in other ways if not steam; etc.

But yeah mostly we are focusing on what we know we can achieve. This is a hail marry. =)

I once came up with a list of guesses of Rick Rashid's email address. Google makes it difficult to copy paste the list, but I can forward the draft to you and you should be able to get them all. Let me know if you want it.

From what little research i did in the past 5 minutes, he doesn't appear to be in Microsoft Research anymore... went to OS design.
