I really wanted the movie to be good. I liked the first two, even though the 2nd one didn't quite live up to the first one.
In the 3rd, the references to the wider Marvel universe, and to what happened in Avengers are neat. The first half of the movie is fine anyway, but then it sinks into a stinking mess of lazy writing and horrible directing. It fails even as a mindless action flick, as the cuts are poorly done.
The movie fails exactly like the Skyfall Bond and Dark Knight Returns did. Same nonsensical BS and underestimating the viewers intelligence. It's sad to see that once again Rotten Tomatoes and other review sites are unable to tell a bad superhero flick from a good one.
I'm a little gutted, as it's the first bad movie in the latest run of Marvel films, and since Robert Downey Jr. is brilliant as ever. I hope Thor II makes up for it.
