Make sure you don't use "Texture Pack" in graphic options.

Post up the contents of your .log files please. (There's 3 of them located in the Alleg base folder)

"VideoSettings.log" is a ".log" file. :)

Hopefully pkk will be around with an opinion. I'm unfamiliar with the high res texture packs.

Sometimes you have to go in and manually delete the pack file, IIRC.

I have a question, arising from a problem that could lead to my ultimate solution...... i believe. How do i update my allegiance install/ files. When i launch in safe mode this seems to start to happen but then the game crashes. "asgs client has encountered a problem.. blah blah.." i dont mean the"repair /update critical files" found in asgs. I want the main game files to be updated... is this even nesasary? my install is a few years old. Is there a way to manually do this, dont want to reinstall the whole game again. Thanks

The surest way is to unistall, erase the folders, then reinstall. (Save your inputmap1.mdl file first - that's where your key bindings are stored. Once you reinstall, just copy it back.)

Our download is pretty small compared to other games.

Asgs has always crashed on an update. If you just ignore the popup, the update will continue and complete.
