... wow, just wow.
First of all, let me tell you that it's not Hollywood as you're used to it. The pacing, the soundscape, the depiction and context of conflict, sex and violence are very different, at least in my opinion. I was afraid the source material would have been turned into yet another Hollywood thriller.
So yeah. The less you know of the movie beforehand the better. It has a lot of impact. Some of the dark stuff made me quite uncomfortable, but some things should feel disgusting. Still, if you're very sensitive maybe give this one a miss. It's not any Eli Roth bull@#(!, I mean disgusting socially and psychologically... I don't want to post any spoilers so I won't elaborate.
The writer was making a point about the dark side of Sweden, in a larger context all us cozy Nordic countries. Take the dystopian aspects a pinch of salt, but I think people living elsewhere will find the setting interesting as well. The movie still feels like it's happening in Sweden, even tough the language is english.
My only real complaint is Daniel Craig. He's a great pick for James Bond or the lead in Cowboys and Aliens, but I wouldn't have cast him as a middle aged city reporter. He is _not_ an action star in the movie, but he can't help but look like it. Imagine he's an ordinary looking middle aged bloke if you can, and it will help. His acting isn't bad, but he is too much of a hunk for the part.

Enjoy, and happy holidays
PS. The original title translates to "Men who hate women"
PPS. The poster is deliberately from the Swedish movie, just to show what the male lead should have looked like
