Hello FAO Community!

As you all know, R6 has been a long time coming. There are many new features (ALLIANCES!!) and a bunch of other fixes that are ready today that improve the game we all love.
Unfortunately there are a few bugs that are preventing us from enjoying the other new/working fixes.

These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up.
So let's change that!

The ZLs have put together the start of a bounty.
We are calling on anyone else that loves this game to offer a few $$s to get these final bugs fixed.

pkk has looked into all bugs that are "blocking" R6's release and identified only one:MultiMonitor Alleg Minimizing bug (http://trac.alleg.net/ticket/225)Although this bug is the only "blocker" bug known so far, there are more "would be nice to fix" bugs and perhaps more bugs that will be found tomorrow.

As the maintainer of the FAO Paypal account, I am now accepting donations for this new goal. When this final bug is fixed, I will forward these donations to the developer(s) that solve it, and help the community release R6.

If you're a developer and think you can solve this issue, then get coding! Contact pkk today and get started!
If you're interested in sweetening the pot, please follow this link to the forum's donation tracker and make a donation today!

(NOTE: Because of a quirk of the donation tracker, I had to enter a target for the R6 goal. I chose $100 because it's a round number, but in reality there is no 'target'. Whatever donations are made towards this goal will be forwarded to the developer(s))

Your pride and ego are so high that you'd rather pay someone to fix bugs instead of taking the proper actions ?!

This is so pathetic, even more because you'll pay for something that is already freely available somewhere else...

you've just reached a new low.

This is just sad.

How about NOT give Imago anything, except a permaban, and instead pay the other code devs (who I'm sure would be much more inclined to do work if they get paid because they're adults)

vs imago who does code work just so he act like he owns the game and can do whatever he wants at anytime because he knows he's too much of an asset to be dealt with appropriately

edit* code work not core work

KGJV, if the fix for the multi-monitor bug in Allegiance is available somewhere else, please provide a link! The community would be very grateful to have this resolved.

As for my pride and ego, they have nothing to do with this. I'm just trying to coordinate an incentive to get the issue resolved so that R6 can finally be pushed out.
And, I hate to feed a troll but... when you say I should take the "proper actions" instead of trying to create incentive... what do you feel are the proper actions?

Thanks for the feedback, as always.

Everyone has personal opinions of others, but if possible I'd like to keep the focus on the issues preventing R6 from being enjoyed by everyone.
Getting R6 released is more important to all of us than any one man's pissing contest.

Granted, but I just don't see the logic in paying someone to fix some things when they are without a doubt the most likely person to intentionally break others.

It's like paying the antivirus company for the virus descriptions for the viruses they keep creating.

There was some discussion about the technical aspects of the bug.

I've split that topic here so it doesn't derail this topic: http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index...showtopic=62976
