Booted for no reason by Commander?
I just started a game flying for Phantom032, pulled out a fighter and was heading to backup a scout exploring a new aleph, when I was booted. It happened around 3:00pm PST today. I just want to know why I was booted. I don't think people should just boot others willy nilly for no reason and I think there should be punishments.

Unless you still have a newbie tag commanders are pretty much allowed to boot whomever they feel like at their discretion.

If its that much of an issue, you can send a PM to BlackViper, head of enforcement.
Get a hider, and log back in. If you're pissed at your comm for booting you, fly for the other team.

You should also learn to read the chat; Phantom told you to dock and switch to a scout.Warshed wrote:QUOTE (Warshed @ Dec 12 2010, 12:16 AM) I just started a game flying for Phantom032, pulled out a fighter and was heading to backup a scout exploring a new aleph, when I was booted. Or if you really want to fly a fighter, at least stay with the cons (or go ahead of them).

Each and every time someone comes on this forum and posts a "booted for no reason" thread, there is, in fact, a reason for their ass getting booted. I suggest you either figure out why (ynik suggested a reason), or simply drop it, play the game, and listen to the comm next time.
There ARE rules about booting and they ARE enforced (see k10's latest boot because he booted a newbie (#)). But please, unless there is some blatant abuse by the comm (...and booting you for not following his request is NOT abuse), do not waste BV's time by PMing him.
Finally, the last thing you want to do is make a post like this. The community doesn't care. Few, if any, sympathize. We've all been booted for doing dumb things or for lack of doing something out of our own ignorance; but most of us don't make a thread about it. You only make yourself look silly. If you think I'm being harsh, then so be it. Hope you don't take it personally.
See you in game.

Maybe if you learned how to play, people wouldn't have to boot you all the time. Seriously, enroll in Cadet, this is some prime voob @#(! except for the part where you're probably still new enough to fix your bad habitsWarshed wrote:QUOTE (Warshed @ Dec 11 2010, 06:16 PM) I just started a game flying for Phantom032, pulled out a fighter and was heading to backup a scout exploring a new aleph, when I was booted. You can easily re-join a game after being booted, and this Wiki page tells you how. Being booted is really not a big deal, annoying and frustrating though it can be.Warshed wrote:QUOTE (Warshed @ Dec 11 2010, 06:16 PM) I just started a game flying for Phantom032, pulled out a fighter and was heading to backup a scout exploring a new aleph, when I was booted.
