Has anyone discussed support for the 3Dconnexion
Space Navigator as a joystick? It has been available for use in
Google Earth for several years (see
video), and I've been using mine in
Second Life for a while now. It seems like it would be a good addition to Allegiance.

Used one of these at work a while ago for something.
Not really sure you could get the fine control required for Alleg. with it though, as you need some pretty fine control. It'd be worth a try i suppose.

There's no need, everyone's good with their X52s and their MX518s and what-not. Also, when you get to the level where you're good, you cease using your clumsy hands to control things and use your mind instead.

That seems kind of cool. Is it easy to get used to?

Neural interface or direct technokinesis?

Technokinesis -- when you turn up your electronic music so loud, that stuff starts to slide off the table.....

I have a space navigator as well. It most definitely can handle the finest control you can throw at it, I just dont know if it's really suited for gaming. It's not a joystick. But it would be neat to see how it would work. The SDK is available here:

It depends what squad you join.
If you take SRM's meds you go to a higher plane where interaction becomes easy
If you join the German Borg Collective you get a painless implant which does all the interfacing for you
RT have just designed some Nerdy Gadgetry to help you.
etc.
