..... I'm at a Linux machine as always. Not a Windows kidney in sight.
I was thinking that if the authentication system has changed then is there a chance of getting Allegiance running on Linux?
I've had a lot of success getting windows games to run in Ubuntu using wine and the playonlinux front end. Surely it can't be that hard to get it to run native by recompiling the code or repackaging as .deb or .rpm.
A number of games are on both platforms but there are no real player authentication systems in place which is probably why they are available on all systems. They are all FPS though. after a couple of games they get boring though. I find I am only able to play a couple of game before my concentration starts to drift. #
Allegiance on the other hand is completely unique game that makes you lose the concept of the real passage time. It would be a great boon to me to be able to play on Linux during the day and on Windows at night. I my also help the player base a little as we could then put it in the get deb repo's or maybe even do our own Allegiance repo.
What do you think. Is this workable now?
Awaiting your response with baited breath,
Flaps.
