BlackViper wrote:QUOTE (BlackViper @ Sep 29 2010, 08:04 PM) Now, as a ZL we have two choices, delete Imago's posts and let him keep spamming them. Or, let you decide what you want to do.

Imago's programs/files/website/games/etc. are not supported by FAO.

Yes, he bypassed ASGS and taught other people how to do it.
Yes, he left the loopholes in the game code itself.
Yes, he is the one who quit and left in a fit of rage (And did have an open invite back, but passed and burnt his bridges)
Yes, we are reviewing ALL of his codes changes line by line.

We think the majority of this community is intelligent enough to make their own choice.

'nuff said.

NOTE: This is a post by me, not an 'official post' ;)

These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye

Note this is not the offical Allegiance Beta Test Exe.

I have no idea if it even connects to FAO's servers.

I'd suggest people do not use this exe, personally.

Which one would you suggest they use?
[15:25] <BBT_> oh, so da vinci's mona lisa isn't his work?
[15:25] <+fuh-zz> No, he simply put effort into it.
[15:25] <BBT_> are you really that retarded?

I'd like to know if the people responsible for this alternative beta test are the same people responsible for hacking ASGS a short while back.

If the answer is "yes" then I think what notjarvis says is good advice. I doubt Imago or whoever else is on his team would create an unsafe piece of software, and after all, the "official" release is still, well, something cobbled together by anonymous volunteers on teh intertubes, but whoever hacked ASGS and then posted as "allegiancezone" or whatever on these forums to talk about how this hacking was supposed to be a way of forcing people to act or something stupid like that, is not someone I'd want to get any software from.

I think if this "new dev team" wants to actually get anywhere they will have to find a way to work with other people in this community, though I doubt that's their plan.

Imago lost all credibility when he failed to fix exploits he knew about in the Allegiance client/lobby/server.. he then embarrassed himself by exploiting the bugs he left in place.

If you don't want a keylogger or trojan, I recommend you do not install the linked Allegiance package.

Whilst I cannot be sure of anyone's contribution to this installer and the evidence of who was bypassing ASGS and hacking Allegiance is somewhat circumstantial (ip addresses and whatnot) it is fair to make an educated guess that they are the same person/people.

can we not create another drama thread, i think there is already a thread for that.

actually, i think there is an entire forum for that. 'rants' or something.

soez....

In 2 weeks™ when 2 different r6's come out from both dev teams... which one do we use? will it matter? are we coming out with effectively 2 different games?

Is this post meant to be ironic and amusing? :P
