I was noticing that there are a couple of totally free multiplayer games on Steam (Alien Swarm, Moon Base Alpha). Has anyone in the community thought of approaching Steam with Allegiance? Seems like a Microsoft developed game would have enough cred to be taken seriously. Something to consider if peeps are serious about the community growing.
Greetings to all former sporkies...

I think its not possible because Microsoft still owns the right to this game and every content for this game (i remember reading this somewhere on this forums)
And Hence it is impossible to affiliate this game to Steam since it will/might create right issues.
Greetings ^^

I recommend people do what Spinoza has, and run their Allegiance through steam. That way you'll show as "in game - Allegiance" and you can add that "Best game you've never played" or something like that as a tagline.

ASGS messed up the running through steam unless you're clever about it, which I'm not.

so basically just add it as a 'non-steam' game, and use ASGS as the file, and rename it and such after the fact?

1. Make shortcut to ASGSClient
2. Rename as required
3. Add Non-Steam Game
4. ...
5. "Osa_Eris is playing PENIS PENIS PENIS!"

I think I mentioned in another thread that I would only find this acceptable (and hopefully someone else agrees) if allegiance could still be installed and run without using Steam and the implementation here seems fine to me.
