AFS is meant to give you a basic primer/grounding in the game before you move onto the more advanced CDT-II. As such we have developed a simple set of self assessment questions, which you can use to check your progress.

You should be able to do the vast majority of the questions in little-no time without looking extra stuff up.

I'm intending to start a new course of the Advanced Cadet II course in a week or so.

Yeah move on to cadet II, if you have the very basics down. No use of hanging out in afs for months, when you can get to the next level.

I answered all of the question right, except for 2 in each of Community and Tech Tree. I don't think I'm ready to join at this moment, but I think I might be in a week. Should I move on, or wait for the next one?

I just checked your leaderboardstats and it seems, that you are quite new to the game. Some more hours of playtime certainy wouldn't hurt...
However, if you read the wikistuff for AFS and had the chance to try those things out ingame you should definately proceed.

If you use the time until the sessions starts to reread the material und to get some playtime for trying out things, you missed by now, you will be well prepared. CDT is a learningcourse, so don't worry too much about your previous knowledge, but plan on playing proactive, as the readingmaterial will only really help you to improveas long as you apply it ingame.

I've read through it all, and all the Additional Reading. My lack of experience thusfar is why I said I didn't feel up to it at the moment, but I think after one more week of practice I might be. Just wanted to get a second opinion on that.

Depends on how much you fly really. One week for someone might be two games, or it might be 3 games per day. Sign up, it won't hurt.

If you really want to improve fast, get on mumble, and in-game, ask openly to your team if anyone will join you on a side channel to discuss what's happening and teach you stuff while flying. It'll help a ton.

I've been doing at least 2 games a day since I started, and I don't plan on slowing down yet.

Is there a better place I should have posted this? I noticed that the only sticky topics with any real posts besides the starting post are those that specifically ask for replies, Check In Here and The Stupid Questions Topic.

New players should feel free to post in this forum as they please. the only reason this and the other pinned topics have few posts is cos i prune them from time to time to get rid of old posts.
