By the way, how come this doesn't get pinged for copyright infringement?

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

Because weed's cool like that

We played a game tonight to test it out - started 6 -6 and ended up about 12 - 12. Quite fun all around. You should definetly show up

If you want to send an email to LucasArts, I don't think anyone's in a position to stop you.

Fair use

To make lots of legal mumbo jambo short: if you don't make money out of it, the big boys don't particularly care.

The models Weed used are fan made and used with permission of the creator. Odds are that if LA wanted to they could slap a big old cease and desist on SW core but it's not really worth their time and effort.

If LucasArts released a game that was similar to allegiance with a Star Wars theme, they might ask us to cease and desist seeing as we'd be siphoning a good part of their target audience with the SW core by providing a free equivalent.

A new XWing/TieFighter game could only end in win anyways.
