This game worked PERFECTLY the first time I launched it, but after I left the Server, the next time I launched I got an error message,
"Authentication failure, please restart the game using ASGS"

I've tried restarting it, and reinstalling it from scratch and unpacking the OGG files, no dice.

Any suggestions?

http://downloads.alleg.net/asgs/asgs.zip

download that and run ASGSUpdate.exe

Neither of those suggestions worked. It still happens every time I try to connect to the lobby.

Sorry, didn't see your post.

Let's see, are you running this in Administrator mode?

Also please fill out the template here completly, there might be some information there that can help us help you, run dxdiag.exe if you have trouble getting some information.

Also just to make completely sure, are you using Build 210 of ASGS? (On bottom left when you run ASGS)

Administrator mode? I don't know.

I edited with a little more information, but nothing else that I think could help. Note that I WAS able to play one time, the very first time I installed and ran it on this computer. I played for a while but soon the game turned into a 3v3v3 deathmatch and I got bored and left. from that point I was never able to enter the lobby because of the hurr derr Authentication Error.

I am using Build 210
Please understand that I'm extremely frustrated right now.

Are you unable to LOG IN with ASGS? or are you unable to join a game? because "I was never able to enter the lobby" (the list of game servers) is different from "I cannot log in because ASGS is bitching at me"

Vista 32 bit or 64 bit?

Granted this is a shot in the dark, but try running in compatibility mode for Windows Server 2003.
Right click on the Allegiance shortcut, select Properties, click on the Compatibility tab, check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:", select Windows Server 2003 in the drop-down menu
