I can log in okay, but when I try to connect to the lobby, I get the error: "The Microsoft Allegiance Game has stopped working" and it closes Alleg down?

I am running Vista Home Premium.

The exit code is usually associated with a bad file, IIRC. I'd uninstall Alleg, then re-install from a new download.

Wait.. didn't I see you on-line later? Got it fixed?

Last time I crashed@lobby was when my mods were messed up.
(too many in or took out all so there wasen't any of that program)
Re-install and uninstall mods correctly next time and you should be good.
I'm not exactly sure how the mod problem works but that's what I had to do to solve it.

EDIT: Read through the crash stage and yes, it was very similar to my crash.
I'm SURE it's your mods.

I'll give it a go when I get home.

Death, I am using my gf's pc to play. It is jumpy and doesn't have joystick.

I uninstalled it from control panel and reinstalled, but it did the same thing. I will try to unsitall it completely (Delete folders and reg entries after the control panel) this time and see if that works.

FAILED....Brand new install and I am getting the same error? Any ideas? This is a brand new formatted HD too. I just installed Vista.

Next time you uninstall, use the one in the alleg folder. That uninstalls it correctly.

Just tried that and it didnt' work. No Anti-Virus. No Firewall. I can login to ASGS, but cannot get to the lobby. I think it might be a corrupt auotupdate files? There seems to be 92 files that are updated upon initial install. I am wondering if this could be the problem?

It's been my experience that a CRASH is the result of corrupt file(s). If everything goes smoothly but you can't connect to the lobby or a server, then that's something blocking the ports. Usually a blocked port implies a firewall, but it could also be a router issue, or even an issue with your ISP. (Some have been known to block certain ports.)

If, however, every time you log into ASGS, and Alleg launches and triggers autoupdate, then it's likely an issue with your machine failing to write the updating files (often a permission error or corrupt file, possibly a bad disk sector, etc.)

Not sure what is going on. I disabled all firewalls, used another router, cleared all instances of alleg in the registry. Reinstalled C++. And re-installed Alleg with full admin rights. Same problem. I can do the training simulation all day, but Alleg exits when I try to get to the lobby. I think I am missing something. Are the training missions on a different server?

I have ran Alleg in the past on XP with same ISP and equipment, but on Vista, it is a whole new ball of wax.
