Hi, I have a second computer and my son would like to play. The problem is I dont know if I'm allowed to have 2 computers play at the same time. I wouldnt let him play by himself and we would probably just play in a seperate server just me and him until he learns the basics at least. Is that LAN option after log-in screen a solution ?

Yes you can. Just make sure you don't link the same game account to both machines. See here for more info about linking accounts

It'd be a lot simpler to create a new game in the server lobby then click the "Lock lobby" button once you are both logged in, that'll keep everyone else out. See here for how to create a game

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

You can both play on the computers if they have the same IP to the internet, you would need to give TE the details so he can make a split/double account.
In order for TE to split you up to seperate PCs your son needs to make a account on the extra PC(see option 2).
Only one unique Account pr computer. If you have Used the gnilpik (or Your son's) account on both systems you need to break it up. If your son have not made a alleg account on either systems.. then you only have to deal with option 1.If you don't get to Unique Alleg account, one on each machine, you can download the old R3 server, and run this on either PCs in the LAN and create a LAN server.. and play on this.

Life suck's and then u play Alleg.

Hi,
If you want to use the LAN option, you need to download the server package. I have done this, and it works, I just don't remember everything I had to do to get the LAN server working. The LAN server itself is limited to a few cores that actually work (mine is at least). To join a game created by your server, you have to open Allegiance through the actual executable, not ASGS.

I think you can download the LAN sever parts from this site, under the downloads. Once it is downloaded, I believe you have to copy the artwork directory to the server directory. It took me around three hours to get it working, and I'm not even sure how much of what I did was necessary.

The LAN server makes a good practice zone (I used it plenty) for both teaching someone else and learning the tech-tree. I have tried to teach several of my friends, and the LAN server is perfect for small deathmatches ;)

Just to be clear, you need no special attributes for your accounts when you share an IP with another player. Only if you exceed 4-5 players on one IP, you need an exception.

This is correct. Create an account for your son on the second computer and try playing together. If one gets kicked out of ASGS after the other joins, your accounts are linked. If that is the case, please report back, so we can talk to TE.
