Happy holidays crew, I think this is a pre-existing issue, or at least one some of the experts can help me solve.

I chose to put my system specs below this opening. I'm upgrading hardware and have done a fresh format/install of everything I have, so on my brand new system with nothing installed except Anti-Virus, OS updates (including SP3, .NET 1.1 + service pack, teamspeak, and Google Chrome browser) I'm trying to get Allegiance back up and running. Here are the specs:

Windows Version (and Service Packs): XP(32)/SP3
Processor Speed: AMD 2.1GHz Phenom-Triple Core
RAM: 2GB running at 1066
Video Card (Make and Model#): MSI Nvidia 512MB 8800GTS
Sound Card (Make and Model#): Onboard Realtek AC97
Connection Type (Dialup, Cable, DSL, other): DSL
Modem (Make and Model#): ActionTec 97 (?)
Router (Make and Model#): n/a
Internet Service Provider(company name): Qwest USA
Location(State/Province/Locality, and Country): Boulder, CO
Installed Mods: See below

Make and Version of firewall: Disabled
Make and version of anti-virus: aVast Home Edition 4.8

Confirm that you have the following installed:
.Net 1.1 [y]
Service Pack 1 for .Net 1.1 [y]
Hotfix for .Net 1.1 [?] - Not sure where this is, couldn't find a link.

Drive Allegiance is installed on: C (same as OS)

Problem Encountered at Step #: Pressing Login
Which Program (ASGS/Allegiance): Allegiance
What Error Message: Exit Code x5c9b035fed62d487

Yesterday, on my previous system (different MB/Processor) I was running with a different centerout.mdl file, TE's chatpack, and most importantly I was using dogbones amazing DX9 alpha build of Allegiance.exe (since I have one of those new nVidia cards). Before even running, I started this Allegiance install with all those mods too, (overwriting some stuff in /artwork and .bak-ing up the original .exe). Before you say this is a mistake, I logged into ASGS and Allegiance loaded succesfully, logging me into the main screen (Training, Free Games, LAN Games, etc). I rebinded all my keys and then exited and restarted once again to make sure my key bindings were there (I am a little OCD like that ;) )

Anyways then I "Free Games" and the auto-update comes out, downloading what looks like a bunch of new BSG models (new core update, cool), the maps I don't have, etc. Once again I restart Allegiance (just cuz) but now I am running into the generic Allegiance failed to start error.

I don't think it would have anything to do with the stuffs I've got installed, since i was running before with them (note on my previous system config yesterday I had all the auto-upgrades installed with these same mods, no issues). Just in case though, I uninstalled all Alleg related stuff and did a fresh install of it a second time, this time with no mods nor the alpha dx9 build. Same scenario where I can launch the game initially but after auto-update I cannot re-start the game.

Thoughts? I'll keep plugging away and update the thread if I discover anything.

Thanks for help, best wishes;

Ty.

OK I think I got this one fixed. I downloaded the hard-linked ASGS file (off of the wiki, where you are supposed to go if you have the 0x00007b error) and now I am running and launching Alleg no problems - funny because I didn't think that ASGS would make a difference?

It told me that my Allegiance.exe had an invalid signature and I attempted to repair, no dice.

So I also did a fresh install of Allegiance and then replaced ASGS with the hard-coded download one. Now it's OK! And afterwards I switched to dogbones' alpha dx9 build and everything is A-OK.

Thanks for the attention if any. Best wishes;

Ty.
