I had a thought this morning. We have alot of players that need alot of work at their ingame skills. We are always getting new players also. What if we had training sessions like once or twice a week? We would set up a sever and do practice runs. For example, on a given night we set up a server labeled "Public Bombing Practice". Two teams are set up, tons of start up cash and both teams spam outposts. Teams take turns bombing each other.

Lessons could include miner D&O training missions, learning to fly stealth, HTTP's, dog fighting, even simple stuff like "find the map the fastest" or how to probe.

Kinda like a newbie server with more guidance and lessons.

Input?

Anything to make it easier for new players to get into the game.

I have thought of this since right after I joined cadet. My idea was that the cadets, and some vets get together nightly on a server and work on some ingame issues, but it never panned out. I certainly have some things to work on, and would participate in something like this regularly. I would still of course also spend some time on the main server, but always ready to learn.

@Cadet already has instructors.

This is something I rallied for while I was in Cadet, but it fell upon false ears (and the ears that were listening explained people have no initiative to do this).

Same here. BlackShadow made a Squad/Cadet - Cross-Training, if i recall correctly. It should get enough people, if you choose a sensible time and post it here beforehand, it should work out nice! (Perhaps with a password?)
One of the worst dogfighters this game has yet seen. And still, Cadet II made even me better!

*Everyone* has had this idea guys.

Like most ideas around here, only works on paper. These will be just as useful as "squad practices". Save your time, play a pickup game or something.

Is your uni so small that it has only one toilet? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

On Topic: Interesting idea... I'd help out/participate.

Adam4 used to rally some Cadets and organize a traing game once a week or two. He might have some more insight, ask him.

This might work better if there was a core that let an instructor control a team of drones for the cadets to play against/with....
