People stack because people want to win while playing the game. They want to whore so they'll go to the best commander and/or the team with the most "skilled" players. People will rather go to a team with mcw, Defi, Psych, and spidey than a team with bit_soul, star_sailor, Ryo_richard, and doninator (though I must say doninator alone would draw any stack simply because of his pure awesomeness).

I'm more inclined to stack when I know comm (b) will do something stupid and ruin the team, while comm (a) will actually know what he/she is doing.

People will join whatever team they percieve that will induce the least amount of pulling-their-hair-out - otherwise known as PuThO factor.

It's also the Rep Effect. You're probably more inclined to stack for Random Voob if it's Random Voob vs. Augz.
