i run Allegiance the ASGS works fine
i recieve a lot of updates ( just installed )
i get into the lobby
i try to connect to multiple game servers but none work

i keep getting "Failed to connect to server"
im running a vista with norton and spysweeper but i doubt that would cause problems if i already get past the lobby right?

any help would be appreiciated.

thx in advance

step 1 :Check your firewalls
step 2 :???
step 3 :If that isn't the problem, wait for someone else to chime in

edit: i only post this, because my own firewalls actually did a similar thing to me.

You doubt wrong. Getting into lobby and joining actual gameserver work quite differently.
Get rid of Norton. Use the removal tool from their website (any other way of removing it is very likely to fail). Reboot, try again. If failure occurs, remove the spysweeper and try yet again.

If you want a good AV, get NOD32 or AVG. Both are far far better than Norton (and they're both free also).

Correction, NOD32 isn't free, but is worth the small price.

We are, on the other hand, pretty certain that Norton will not let you play Allegiance. There is no known fix for that.

Let me rephrase that:

We know, for certain, that Norton does not work with alleg. EVERY person that has had norton has had this EXACT problem and it has been fixed when they uninstalled Norton.

Also, Norton is a steaming pile of @#(! (as is Macafee). It is the #1 target for hackers to exploit, because more people have it, and because it is a corporate program, updates inherently take much longer because they require a lot more testing and other things before they're allowed out. So the word gets around on the latest exploit a lot quicker than the update, where with the free ones, they can just update it really quickly and send it out.

Well, at least that's how it was explained to me

Vista + Any AV product with a bundled firewall = No Allegiance
XP + Any AV product with a bundled firewall = Allegiance works with modified firewall rules.
