I just bought the Logitech 3D Pro and it will not load a profile. It is not programmable with Vista. Do not buy this controller if you run Vista Home Premium. Their tech support has been working diligently with me and cannot find an answer for me.

It's time for me to resurrect the Frankenstein. It's a Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold. I bought it back when Allegiance was pay-to-play. It has been broken several times, stitched, glued and sewn back together, taken apart and modified, and buttons wire-tied back on. But it is time. I cannot get used to my new one and it is not programmable.

...and y'all have been wondering why I suck way more than my usual for the past two months!

Don't use the profiling software. The stick is mappable directly through Allegiance. Many of us use it just fine.

If I decide to take that route, it's gonna have to come apart for some modifications first. Until then, the Frankenstein will rise.

Mesial, just don't buy Vista.

Problem solved, I love my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

The Saitek Cyborg Graphite is the same exact joystick as the Gold, minus the buttons in the base. It's cheap, too. I got mine for $10.

See, that's where we differ fuzzy. I was a beta tester for Vista and loved it. Even played Alleg on it prior to it's release just fine. When I installed it recently on my new computer I had an issue with my AV but outside or that... all's been fine. I've forced myself to use this new joystick too for the past two months, but I just do not like it. The stick is too stiff and the palm rest is too low. Quite uncomfortable. With the Cyborg, everything was adjustable, left or right, even the tilt of the buttons.

I'll look into the cyborg graphite a little more commander...

EDIT* The Saitek ST90 looks good enough for me...
