Hey, I love this game, and recently got back into it (Crimsonblade), but with R4 I am experianceing a crash everytime I try to start the game. As soon as I run it, even before it gets to the login screen I get this:

Fatal Execution Engine Error

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled, click OK to terminate, Cancel to debug.

I even tried to uninstall/reinstall, but when I try to do that, I get this error

"Cannot delete ATL.DLL, it's being used by another program"

when I try to reinstall it anyway:

"Cannot open file ATL.DLL, its marked as "read-only" (Says in properties that it is not).

someone help me. This computer ran the game great, and I really wanna play again.

Please fill up the template from the READ ME FIRST post.

And your initial post doesn't tell us what the heck is crashing. Is it ASGS? Allegiance?

Help us help you.

Like I said, the game crashes before I get to the login screen.

well, I tried un installing it, and it worked fine (did not stop in the middle of installation). Then I tried to run it, and got the same thing in the first post. I'd post my computer specs, but theres no point, since I was able to play for about four months, before I lost interest for a while.

perhaps it's because I did that .Net framework cleanup thing? I was afraid that I had 3.0 and couldnt run the game, so I did that, and now I can't. kinda Ironic..

after you do the cleanup, you need to reinstall the .net 1.1 and .net 2.0 and the service packs for both

When you boot, press f8 and boot into save mode. From there delete your allegiance folder and that annoying dll
