If I try to run allegiance it comes up great but I can't continue because I'm not authorized. So I run ASGS and BAM - I get that crap above ... any ideas? I've reinstalled the whole shebang 9 times - still that nonsense ... /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

I'm a software developer and have been since 1972 ... so, yes, I have all the frameworks installed EXCEPT for 3.5 on this system - 3.5 is however installed in a VM on this system (see below ...)

I do NOT have 3.5 installed here yet but was planning on trying it out soon. MS is scheduled to release 3.5 pretty darned soon and all our applications, tools and what nots at work will be upgraded as soon as it is!

I've been running just fine up until yesterday too ... I did install Visual Studio .NET 2008 Team Suite and Server 2008 Enterprise yesterday but into VMs not onto the HOST system!

Why can't we just FIX this stinky issue?

OK well ... successfully uninstalled all versions of the framework, ran the cleanup bugger and rebooted - reinstalled ONLY framework 1.1 and POOF -- same error 0xc000007b

DAMN IT

Installed framework 2.0 - same error /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />
Updated frameworks - SAME ERROR /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

DAMN IT - WHERE IS THE SOURCE CODE SO I CAN FIX THIS!??

Short of PAVING this system I guess I'm gone.

I wish PAVING was an option but I have too many things on this system I need to keep for now.

I'll check back from time to time however as this has been my favorite game since I first played it in 1999 ...

I am slated for a new system sometime in January 2008 so perhaps then I will be playing again (I'll be moving to VISTA however)

Was really fun while it lasted - I'm going to miss all of you guys /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

UPDATE:

I've decided to pave this baby ... nearly all my dev work is in VM's that reside on OTHER drives in this system and others so the paving shouldn't be too bad long as I can find the asphalt /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Sorry, only the author of ASGS (Pook) has the source code and he has been made aware of the problem.

Thanks - no worries really - perhaps with this paving operation I can simultaneously fix my microphone and finally join you fine gents on TS ...

Still - we really SHOULD get this issue fixed - MS is slated to release 3.5 soon and that's a known killer. Only issue I see right now would be the use of Xenocode (WHICH BTW, I suspect is the REAL culprit here as I yet to find an obfuscation product that DOES NOT cause one issue or another) ...

P.S. I'[ve found the asphalt and am now backing up the goodies and downloading latest driver packs and what-nots /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I'm probably too late, but doesn't removing all the .NET stuff require a special removal tool (not unlike Norton's) to truly remove the .NET stuff?
