Any chance we can set bases to self destruct in Alleg? ie: the comm presses a button or researches a weapon that can kill one of his own bases when FF=off. I've often wished for a self destruct capability in Alleg eg:

- you capped an op and now have 2 in the same sector with newbs always launching from the wrong one to d /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
- you capped their gar in an htt but you would really like it dead so they can't recap it /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cool:" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
-you want your op in a different place in the same sector later in the game /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roll:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

possible ways to implement :

- research a missile or bomb that only kills your own bases and costs 1000.
- if you can link a bought item to launch at a specific base then it would be great to be able to "jettison the nuclear reactor" which would then go into overload and destroy the base and anything near it. Essentially launch+detonate in say 30 secs with a magnificent BABOOM.


It seems only logical that the comm who buys a base is also able to make it self destruct /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I'd like 2 options,

option 1: Salvage take 5 minutes in which you can can claim 60% of the initial cost of the building. Also you can no long use this base once it;s been initiallise.

Option 2: Self Destruct, 30 second timer, Base remains fully functional until the very end, at which it has the efect of a Resonator except at the base and not the aleph.

Delayed self destruction would be a pretty big nerf for HTTs, just keep it in mind.

i like the idea...

maybe set the self-destruct to 60 seconds in order to not nerf the HTT so much...

the salvage idea is excellent too... most other games have some sort of reclamation tool

Yup, good idea Barrager. /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" /> A longer timer could indeed prevent misuse in case of HTT attack, it should not be too long though.

Seriously, they should fix FF so that you can't pod yourself on your own base. That's just too lame. Either that or #*&$!ng fix GT doors.

Commanders being able to blow up their own bases makes boot resigning obsolete.
