Anyone get Vista to work with Allegiance? I have read all the forum help et al, made all the changes etc. but no luck. I know this is a help topic but I thought I would post it here because this forum gets more attention.

Thanks!

I think you made the wrong decision buying Vista in the first place.

Good luck, Smeg.

Isn't 'Smeg' the equivalent of $#@! in England? I don't remember where I heard this.

I'm waiting until Vista service pack 8 is released until I upgrade to another bug filled operating system.

Vista ?....I still won't run XP yet /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

We had a big joke in the IT department when Windoze XP came out....The XP Stood for X-tra P-rofit. I have yet to see a single good reason to upgrade to it, even owning 2 license's. /glare.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":glare:" border="0" alt="glare.gif" />

(Ran it for a while as my main OS, went back to W2K pretty quickly though...) /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

Maybe by the time W2K doesn't support enough to keep it active, Linux will have figured out decent porting for some of these games and I'll go that way for good. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

Oh, but which version of Vista? Is it Vista Home, Professional, Ultimate, Enterprise, Business, Basic, Trial, Education, Virtual, Home Media, or Mobile?

I'm in the exact same situation.. still on Windows 2000

Seriously what extra benefits does Vista or XP really provide where I should upgrade if all the programs I need to run on Windows 2000, run well

I run allegiance just fine on Vista. Just right click the Allegiance icon, click compatibility, and click the box to run it in xp sp2 mode. then go into the allegiance folder and do the same for the allegiance.exe. You'll run it just fine then.
