For any of you using 64-bit windows, the instructions say: "If you are using a 64-bit version of Windows, install the 64-bit version of this package instead." This didn't work for me and I continued to get an error when starting Allegiance.exe. After scratching my head for a while, rebooting/un-installing/rebooting/re-installing I figured I would just give the x86 re-distributable a shot ... worked like a charm.
The description from Microsoft's download page isn't totally clear, but I think that the 64-bit version is only need to run actual 64-bit applications. Since alleg is 32-bit, I guess the x86 files are also needed so that 64-bit XP can do its whole "lets pretend I'm not a 64-bit OS" thing.
Can any other 64-bit Windows users confirm?

Installer? You mean AEM's installer for R4? He said he figured this out, unfortunately the instructions were still wrong when I went through this and it looked easy enough to just do by hand (which it was until I got to the part where they were wrong). So I haven't tried AEM's installer.
Dogbones can you fix your instructions ... 64-bit users don't need the x64 version of VS2005 stuff, that is only for actual 64-bit applications.
