well i remember that capital ships... well they are useless, fighters can kill them without a second thought and bombers go WOO FREE KILL.
so here is what i think the ships should be like.... (this is just a dream so its not really ment to be taken as a true suggestion)

armor:|||| (the cruisers armor is think but not against other cap ships, so this is impossible to kill with fighters and hard to kill with light bombers)

attack: X (these units cannot attack fighters well they have little to no accuracy to them thus the attack is nill) ||| (now we get into the strong attack this unit is something to worry about on the battlefield, this unit will give a battleship a run for its money)
speed:||| (the cruisers speed is what keeps it alive in most gunfights as well as the frigs and dessys)
scanning range: (this can range anywhere from |\ to ||||\ so an exact stat is impossible)
cost:|||\ (now we get into the expensive area... this is the cheapest yet strongest thing your gonna see and more often cruisers are going to play flagship more than the big boys ((battleships)) )
Battleship: (woo for uberness)
armor:||||\ (this ship is DAMN hard to kill thus it is given a rating of ||||\, this ship is all so immune to fighters and rather weak against bombers)
shields:|||| (rather hard to break threw without emp)
attack:|||| (this unit can make short work of anything other than a fighter) X (this unit cant attack fighters due to the weapons it cares)
speed:|\ (this unit is slow but not painfully so)
scanning range: \ (this unit needs other ships to give it information as it cant see without them)
cost:|\ (this unit is very expensive so you wont see it very often)
Dreadnought/titan: (here comes some serious firepower.... you wont see anything stronger than this.... EVER ((in alleg anyway))
armor:|||||\ (this unit cannot be killed by fighters and bombers have a slim chance against it only other capital ships can hurt it)
shields|||||| (the shields on a dreadnought are godlike... emp bombs will dmg them but not disable them, it takes 2 or 3 battleships to take the shields down. without its shields its a sitting duck) (due to the shields power they are unable to stop small bombs and missiles so bombers have the ability to kill it with its shields at 100%)
attack:|||||| (if your in its way your dead.) X (again these large units have little to no firepower against fighters and require an escort against em, bombers may not affect it a lot but if its alone its dead due to its unable to kill small ships (( it would take forever tho)) )
speed:\ (this unit is slow.... and i mean slow, it wont take hours to reach its target due to it can warp to any node ((if its adjacent to it)) but its one of those OMGWTFBBQ things that if it pops up its not likely to move)
cost:\ (its one in a million your gona see this in a real fight.... this cost a hell of a lot of moolah and its not one of those things that yo can leave alone)
scanning range:.... ok this thing has no scanners but what it has in place of that is that its a mobile command station... thats right a mobile command station, commanders can command from it and small fighters can land ans stay landed change weapons and tp to it its all so a building like ship, thus if the enemy has one you HAVE TO KILL IT to end the game if the game is set to kill all. this unit has limited access to con and mining units thus its able to build 1 miner and an outpost.. nothing more, so if you have this thing left your able to keep going...

anyway like i said this is a dream of what this game should be... and besides to get a game with a good capital ship or 5 requires more over 150+ players on each side.... so..... o.0.
oh and btw the titan has a lot of turrets but no pilot guns (the pilot of the titan/dread is the commander as only he can tell it were to go and only the ai can move it)
if its possible add the ability to kill turrets... thus titans are more killable than without that feature.... but then again this has a 2% chance of happening so meh
