Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

like i say before...when i first play this game.. we got over 2000 players.....7 years later and we only have less than 200 players
can't wait for another 7 more years

Unfortunatly our new network code is broken, there are 13 people in a server unable to join the main server because it wont let them, we log into the server and are presented with the noat screen as soon as we attempt to join and get accepted by a commander it hangs for about 1min then drops back to the lobby.

Not so good.
