Scout and nan, together in love?
Voting higher on the list mean you think nans should be more used.
Voting lower on the list means you think nans should be less used.

If you need it you wont have it, if you have it you won't need it....
Its only one cargo slot anyway.

Mod; If you have a moment, add another question; "Should a player be booted for not having and needing a nan" yes/scolding/no. And change always/never to almost always / almost never in the first poll question.

I wonder why anyone would choose "never".

cause i never load a nan, thats why. Plus 'NEVER' was lonley with no picks
ok its not tue, but for a starting scout, i will never load a nan even if if on con d with a scout, hell if i bring probes its cause i forgot to unload them and change with mines.. Hell im barely in a scout unless its just to laggy for me. or i have a low kb and a bomb run is about to go out, AND i feel pity for them.

If I'm camping an aleph I load up fully with prox. Other than that, I pretty much always have one. But even if you don't have one, pretend you do! The d on that bomb run will probably still attack you /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

My first time out of base, unless I'm on D. I don't bring it. I'd rather have an extra probe or a prox instead of a Nan. I'm far more likely to go "Damn... I wish I had a prox to get that fig off my ass" or "oh, a constructor, let's drop a probe nearby the rock it thinks it wants" than "well, I better rip home and start nanning a miner before I've spent my cargo..."
If I'm hunting a miner by myself, I don't bring a nan. You need to kill a miner as fast as possible in a scout. That means dumbfires, not a nan. If I'm hunting a miner with a fig or an int? I'll bring a nan.
If I'm camping an aleph? Prox. All of it.
If it's mid-late game and I'm eyeing stuff or dropping a few probes... sure, I'll pack one.
The only time you boot someone for not having a nan would be when you gave them a direct order to bring a nan along and they didn't... and it would be faster to boot them and have someone request to join, grab a scout with a nan and get to where they need to be faster than said scout ripping home, getting a nan and getting back.

Whenever possible. You never know when it could come in handy. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
Not carrying a nan should IMHO be an exception rather than a rule:
When you're off miner hunting alone in a scout, you'll need the cargo space for missiles, and you'll need your gun for those final few hitpoints. If you're in a team of fighters or ints, you usually need both a nan and a gun, depending on the defence. Nanning a fighter is better than shooting the fighter's target, especially given your single gat1 and limited number of missiles, plus, when the fighter goes down, you won't stay alive for long.
Er...that's all I can think of actually. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
