Do you fly with the grid on?

I'm wondering how many people fly with the grid displayed; and more importantly - which way the top "Women of Questionable Virtue" do it.

Personally, I haven't used it in about a year - ever since I realised that the first thing I always did on entering a sector was roll my ship so that it was up "the right way". Reading Ender's Game might have had something to do with it too.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

When I fly, grid settings match pants settings: always off.

I only turn it on for maps without stars or maps like dune with too many stars. Basicaly when I need to have my bearings aligned, mostly off however.

Wait, there's a grid? I thought that was only for the overhead maps. Hrm.

As you've prolly guessed, I've never used it, and didn't realise there was one. I don't think I'll use it anyways. Not knowing where down is makes it more interesting.

And what did reading Ender's Game have to do with it?
So, you've got a fighter. It's still space debris, until you get some skill.

i use it, because it helps me keep things in reference to plane, as well as helping me track things from f3 into the f2 view.

gets in the way sometimes, but overall, very useful.

no, i don't like the look of it, it makes everything feel smaller. not good when things get crowded.

though i do turn it on some times, but only when i decide its needed, and that is only very occasionally. perhaps black sectors

not a top woman of questionable virtue, but ill chime in anyway.

On. Helps me predict where stuff like bombers and htt's are going to be, so dropping mid-sector proxies and ramming becomes easier.

For whoring it just clutters the view, so i usually turn it off when I'm selling my body.
