I was in my kitchen prepping dinner last night and still laughing out loud. Let me set the stage:
The great GT vs BIOS game last night. Champy vs Freeza. It is about 60 minutes into the game. A couple of us were doing some single or paired PT bomber runs. I decided to get a regular bomber and Immy jumped on my turret. We had been doubling up for a bit.
So Freeza gives the bomber, I let everone know we are bombing the garrison from low. I rip into our low left TP and proceed to camp up the aleph. I call for nan's and we get about 5-6 nans. Things are looking real good. Freeza is calling for support for us. We end up with a nice looking bomb run, even some decent escort ships.
Everybody ready? Go! Go! Go!
First scout through the aleph calls clear, no mines or camp. I am trying to find my lock to swing towards the garrison. WTF? They have a TAC in here! But I can't find the garrison! We are getting rammed and ready to kick ass, but WTF is the garrison??? I target the TAC and just started laughing my ass off. At about this point Immy is cracking up too.
We had just successfully completed a bomb run on our own TAC. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
Instead of going left into their home sector, we had gone right into OUR sector where our TAC was located. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Needless to say, our chat channel was flowing with laughter! The funniest part was NO one questioned the aleph I had camped or figured it out. We were so focused on making this run work we ALL missed I was on the wrong aleph! /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
We commmenced to go back and cross the entire sector and nail the home TP. Laughing so hard I could barely fly.
The only thing I can think of is I just started flying yesterday with my new 22" widescreen. Resolution is set at the native 1680 x 1050, so things are a bit smaller. The sector names were Mielikki and Miekko and misread them /glare.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":glare:" border="0" alt="glare.gif" />
Postives: Apparently I have a good enough bombing reputation that no one would question what I was doing /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
Negatives: Even a 7 year vet screws up once in awhile /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

When the first scouts were going in, I had moused over the sector to see what the camp situation was.. and I didn't see anything. Not even the scouts that went in. Or pods for that matter. Hmm. I thought I must've been bugged or something and I held my breath as we entered the aleph..
Only to have that pre-aleph breath holding turn into laughter as I realize we'd just camped our own tac aleph for a few minutes.
We're so good, we don't even see ourselves coming.

Probably confused the hell outa the other team too.
"Camp their aleph!"
"ummm, where are they going?"
"Camp the Aleph!"
"defend their own tac from them..."

I just sat there looking at my screen and said to myself, "Did that really just happen?" /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
That was a good laugh.

Nice game but Gt PT bomber abs really need an acceleration and speed increase. If you shoot them at full speed then it takes several seconds for them to come into view plus the other team can easily shoot them down. It felt nice clearing the map with viper in pt bombers when the other team was busy defending their tech bases from reg bomb runs and stang camps /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
