I'm just curious to find out how many people know, use, or would like others to use; the NOAT TEAM ONLY chat as opposed to the ALL chat while sitting in the lobby chatting during a game.

Allegiance was originally designed as a next-generation chatroom featuring easy changing of text colour through use of "colour coded chat teams", until Microsoft decided to implement a minigame featuring space based real time strategy space sim combat, the minigame proved quite popular with the users of the Allegiance Chat Service, and thus it is now used as both, a chat client and a computer game.

n.b. I may not see a forum post replied to me or a pm sent to me for weeks and weeks...
A poll may not be able to change it, but I wish the community would adopt it as polite behavior. There is nothing like missing an important bit of information because NOAT is so busy discussing the sexual habits of spider monkeys and their relationship to Chinese foreign trade patterns that the chatter scrolls it straight off the screen. I know you can page up and look at the text again, but that is only if you noticed you missed it in the first place, not always a certainty.
Whether or not the technology exists to handle the behavior, I still find excessive chatter on All chat from NOAT to be incredibly rude. While I have no interest in creating a new rule, it would be nice if the community members themselves would start using NOAT Team Only Chat, especially for the more in-depth and esoteric discussions. I don't really like muting the lobby, especially when I comm, because I like to leave easy communication lines open to players who either wish to join or what to know if there is enough time left in the game to bother joining.

Besides. When I'm flying. I'm still chatting. I am good at multitasking like that I guess. Can't talk on the NOAT's team chat if I'm playing the game, eh? That's the reason most people don't use the NOAT chat. And there are a few occasions where you can take it to another channel, and some people do. But then, what good is a conversation if you aren't getting other peoples opinions? *shrugs*
