What are they and how do they affect the way your ship flies?

Dead zones affect the zone in which your joystick movement does not translate to ship movement. It is necessary for worn out joysticks that drift to a direction. My joystick does that, because it is pretty damn old now. I used to turn on large dead zone, but that hinders the speed of your reaction. That's why you can see me drift to one side when my ap is off. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

So, nothing to worry about if you're a mouse user then?
Thanks.

negative, the deadzone sets the minimum ammount of movement to register, make sure you use a small deadzone, for the most accurate movement.

Well, Allegiance set it to Normal Deadzone by default anyway, and I didn't change it. I was just wondering what it was.

Often times, I have that problem with my joystick and recalibrating it usually does the trick to fixing it. I have to recalibrate my joystick probably every 15 games or so.

There might be something in the software that came with your joystick, or a separate app online....
