Trolling through the Allegiance beta thread I got to thinking about days gone by and thought I'd ask what fond memories do you have of the "old days" of Allegiance?
Some of mine:
- The Sunday ALVault Big Games
- ALVault
- The 24-hour Allegathon
- Zone Games
- 40-player games being considered 'small' and appropriate for newbie coms
- Cloaking IC HTT's
- Many, many, many players

Harrassing Verbal_Gynt constantly.
6 hour games on demand complete with solid slug firing skyripper mounting devestator "trench wars".
"Somebody drop ammo for our devestators or this whole game was for nothing!"
Checking the squad standings and stats on the AZ daily like it was fantasy football.
Massive 6 team games that didn't suck. Though I always seemed to be on the team that got raped by 3 other teams that allied on the fly.
Occasionally slumming in the FZ and experiencing online "godmode".
Hanging with Pabloextreme, Eric1020, CJM, Bun_Bun, Smackyboy, Opspearhead, Maskedbaboon, D3sperad0, Hud, Music, Scribe, Mleigh, Blinder, Dordon, Mufatu and countless others.
Writing comedy Allegiance fiction with Swan on the Alvault.
Trading insults and empty boasts with Bastrad.
Hitting the shadow server and trying out the new insects. "Damn these guys are going to rock!"
Losing jobs, girlfriends, and pissing off family because of a video game. 6+ years and counting. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
The early days can never be brought back. Hopefully, in the future, we'll come close.

Arrogant AZ player coming to the FZ to get a beating. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
My newb days: "Why the hell do you want me to unmount my shields on the SB!!!???!!!"
Allegiance money: Grendelwolf (my flat mate) and I played via Dial up. We put 5-10 DM per game in a jar to pay the bill at the end of the month.
My first steps with a router, DXPort and Allegiance.
GB getting owned by every squad out there...
JimmyNighthawk without the weirdness.
