This isnt a bogstandard noob error so please read this before ignoring me.
This is a FAZ Beta ONLY problem. I can connect to the lobby and play games fine on FAZ, but 5 seconds later, when I try the Beta it doesnt work. I tried this process a few times but it made no difference.
I dont think that it can be a problem on my end because my FAZ works fine so it cant be the internet, and i have the latest version of FAZ Beta and everything, but it just wont connect to the lobby.
Help?
Thanks

Failed to connect to lobby.

The beta is offline, because ASGS/FAZ beta Client are unable to connect to the beta server (fazdev.alleg.net).
FAZ beta has the same problem like the regular Allegiance.

no, thats not the problem, this was BEFORE the Alleg went down, i was having my FAZ problems, and no i didnt even get the MOTD. IT cant be anything to do with the internet unless there ar different settings required by R3 to the current Alleg version?

If you cannot even get to the MOTD then it umm, has everything to do with the internet /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> The MOTD message is gotten through an http call from the client. I am guessing you cannot get to fazdev.alleg.net.Cadillac wrote:QUOTE (Cadillac @ Sep 24 2006, 05:47 AM) no, thats not the problem, this was BEFORE the Alleg went down, i was having my FAZ problems, and no i didnt even get the MOTD. Open a command (cmd) window and type 'ping fazdev.alleg.net'. You should get a response.
To be clear you followed the instructions in http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index...showtopic=23828
You installed the beta (step one) AND THEN did step two?
And you are starting the beta by either launching ASGS and selecting Beta Mode or you are clicking on the beta client (not the regular allegiance.exe).
What version number are you getting for the beta client (right click, properties, Version tab and go to Product Version tag, in the item name box, NOT the File version at the top of the vesion tab.

I have this too. I have a Sonicwall firewall so most likely I will need to open the ports. I do get MOD though and pings are fine though laggy ~500ms
