New Squad thought
To become an official squad you need 15+ regular players (players that are rank (0)-(7)/novices don't count). You also must play 3 squad games against other squads (min. players per team 10+). The squad leader needs approval to start the squad (pm Thal). The senate may need to approve it.
That's about it in a nutshell, someone will correct any possible changes since I remembered that. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Straight from the Senate Constitution:
Group Definition
Squads and the General Body are the two types of Groups.
A Squad shall be composed of no less than ten (10) unique, active person members. A member is unique if he is not a member of another Squad. A member is active if he logs onto ASGS or the FAZ no less than once every thirty (30) days.
The General Body is composed of persons active but not members of a squad.
Group Recognition
If a potential Squad desires recognition as a Group, it shall submit a proposal for Recognition Determination to any Senator. The Senator shall, within three (3) days of receiving the proposal, post it on the Allegiance Senate forum at www.freeallegiance.org.
The Senate shall, within twenty-one (21) days of the proposal being posted, determine, by a simple majority (51%) vote, whether the potential Squad, prior to the date the proposal was posted, has both met the definition of a Group for forty-five (45) consecutive days and played three (3) squad games. A squad game is defined as a game where no less than five (5) unique members of one Squad play no less than five (5) unique members of another Squad, regardless of whether either squad has been granted recognition as a Group.
If the determination is negative, the potential squad is precluded from submitting any additional proposals for Recognition Determination for sixty (60) days after the date the negative determination is made.
================================
Step one is to get Thalgor to OK the forming of a new squad. The biggest piece of advice I can offer is to have 10 ACTIVE playing Allegiance players who are not newbies. Once you truly have that, then PM Thalgor.
A squad can then be created in ASGS. Once you have qualifed for recognition by the Senate as an official squad (playing the squad games), you can then petition to be recognized by the above rules.

You're mixing up the requirements to form a squad and get a tag (10+ non-newbie players, Thalgor's approval), with requirements to have a senator from your squad on the Senate (3 verified squad games, Senate approval).jgbaxter wrote:QUOTE (jgbaxter @ Sep 7 2006, 07:06 AM) To become an official squad you need 15+ regular players (players that are rank (0)-(7)/novices don't count). Other than having a bunch of your friends with the same tag there really isn't a point to making a new squad. Especially if they are all new people. Having them all in the same squad doesn't get you anything more in game. There's no secret handshakes or private channels in chat. At the most I think it might get you ridiculed.
Some of the squads that have 30+ active members can't field 10 people in a squad game.
So, my advice, bring your friends, join Cadets! That's the best squad ever!

What else is new. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Someone asked me a recipe for apple brandy cake once, I gave them one for strawberry rhubard pie, ah well. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Red phoenix is not dedicated to jut halo. we play many other games and are working on expandind it to more. I bet that with time i can get them approved. There are so many of them i would not worry about having the required # of people. A litle influence can go a long way. And can we try to keep this on topic please. it just really bugs me. and strawberry rubarb pie is ok if youve tried it.
