The hud layout looks very much like the default allegiance one.

I have the original FS1 and 2 discs but I think you don't need them for the Babylon project.

I think what originally prompted MadP's post about KB, wasn't KB itself, but the fact that pods in Allegiance aren't "invulnerable". KB is merely an incentive to kill enemy pods, and a penalty to players for "dying". Otherwise, you'd always let the other guy float and always try to suicide yourself. That's unusual behavior in a war, and there should be some measure to make things reasonable in this regard. Whether the best way to accomplish this is KB or something else, is a topic for another thread as you say.KGJV wrote:QUOTE (KGJV @ Aug 4 2011, 10:33 AM) KB in its current design is a very controversial feature of Allegiance and it deserves its own thread to discuss (expect mega drama there).
The 5 minute lifespan is also very important. Nothing sucks the joy out of the new player experience than getting podded far from home with no chance of rescue.

Trying to kill your own life boat would certainly be unusual in war, but that could be solved by making escape pods completely invulnerable to mine fields and enemy collisions and the like. I'd like to see that actually; it always seemed ridiculous that you could kill your own pod in any way to respawn instantly. If you get podded, it should be either get rescued, get shot down by KB-hunters, or float for five minutes.Adaven wrote:QUOTE (Adaven @ Aug 5 2011, 01:45 AM) Otherwise, you'd always let the other guy float and always try to suicide yourself. Killing enemy pods would not necesarily be "usual" if you want to talk about behaviour in war; at various times in history there were rules and customs about trying to keep war "civilized," as it were, so I think sparing enemy life-boats could be seen as perfectly normal. But I guess that's neither here nor there when it comes to game-play.

I'd hardly say that KB is controversial. The only anti-KB thread I can recall included the phrase "FACE THE FACTS!"KGJV wrote:QUOTE (KGJV @ Aug 4 2011, 11:33 AM) KB in its current design is a very controversial feature of Allegiance
