raumvogel wrote:QUOTE (raumvogel @ Oct 19 2010, 01:45 PM) Command is the problem. I forgot to buy patties this morning when dreg. I hardly comm. I can remember all of the details because I comm so little. i try to stick to 1 faction just so I can remember how that works. I know I'm old and have the memory of a flea, but it's the same with others, I'm sure. Chako prolly had that strat work for him once or twice, so now he is in the habit of doing it. Vanca switched to TF just before launch and then garret joined him. I had a newb and a faction I never comm. I ask the newb to defend as our op is being decimated and he rips back after the con and 1 miners are dead.
So what do I hear after the game ends? "you should have bought patties". "Why didn't you buy pattied"? "You know, Dreglar needs patties right from the start." Now, do you think I want to try commanding anytime soon?
Even if we have to reduce the factions until we get better commanders, it's worth it to save the game. I never liked commanding, but I have lately just to keep people on the servers. The ones that want to command, need to have it easier so they will stick to it.
Umm, patties for Dreg? Solar Inverters on Belts? WTF?

This thread is 1/3 troll, 1/3 jokers, 1/3 confused bystanders. Allegiance isn't dead. There are clear issues with why the playerbase is (slowly) declining. All of them can (and will) be fixed. If you want to help out but don't know where to start, send me a PM. Two caveats: 1) You have to accept that your best contribution might be "play the game". Not everyone has coding skills or the right stuff to get players playing. 2) I don't waste my time with trolls via PM. For what it's worth, the same invitation goes to information requests. If you need something, ASK.
Got a problem? Reach out and try to fix it. If you do it with some sort of tact, I think you'll be pleased with the results.

I play almost everyday. I had hoped my post was a contribution, but I guess it wasn't. NVM

Microsoft declared Allegiance dead 10 years ago.
We're all still here. Do the math.
Allegiance isn't a new game, nor does it have great graphics or fancy cutscreens. But it can be $#@!ing *FUN* to play.
The amount of fun depends on who's around you because Allegiance simply isn't a standard "solo game" or "team game." If you're playing with people who don't know what they're doing Allegiance is a chore. If you're playing with people who follow their commander, and you're flying under a commander who communicates his plan well and influences his team's morale positively... the game simply can't be beat by anything out there.
So is Allegiance dead? Depends on your viewpoint. Microsoft says yes. So does jbansk.
Microsoft says a lot of things. So does jbansk.
On a completely unrelated note, I think we need a new userclass on these forums: Troll.
What "benefits" would our community's best trolls get? I think 60s post delay to start. What else?

FYI, we have one of these threads in the XT forum. It was created by Nak in 2006.

Evil? Is that what you brainwashed smegs think? He got
pissed off. I love that the people that help the most always end up being the "bad guys".
Clay_Pigeon wrote:QUOTE (Clay_Pigeon @ Oct 19 2010, 10:35 AM) You also have to play well with others, put your ego in check, and not throw a tantrum every time you don't get your way.
There is much more to it than you know and frankly, the primary problem posted two posts before me

. Too bad I can't put him on ignore.

I was a big fan of Imago until he started hacking the game.

TE: No math needed for this one.
Girley: Imago's "hacking" was a harmless demonstration and a good laugh.

You guys need to stop posting in this crappy topic so that the AFS Video Project thread stays on top and most visible. At least its something that will help greatly with preventing voobiness unlike this thread of mindless drivel.
