I misguidedly declare: Allegiance is Dead
QUOTE I happen to agree. Yet again though. We will just dicuss things to be done to help. None of it will be done.
Hopefully not ...
QUOTE That is one thing I have noticed. There are people who are looking to contribute. Who either don't know how or who to ask.
I would love to contribute to dev team. I have no idea how to do any of that stuff. I already did what Sai suggested me to do to help with the merketing team.
So what else is there we can do?
I for one have experience drawing textures for space related scenes.
I also have quite well sized db of technically oriented textures.
I had issues figuring out in the past how to open alleg models, hopefully this time I will be able to crack that, then I can quickly reskining a faction or 2 from top to bottom, using the current models.
From that on, another question comes to mind - how much shouldn't the auto-installer textures / models touched ?
There are some quite nice textures for certain models, which greatly improve the visuals ?
All in all, there some work to be done, I think we need to start a dev project to see how many artists we can get in,
also the increase of computational cost is rather important issue.
Lets just get our sleeves up and start contribute useful stuff (those of us who can and are not doing it) ?

[15:25] <BBT_> oh, so da vinci's mona lisa isn't his work?
[15:25] <+fuh-zz> No, he simply put effort into it.
[15:25] <BBT_> are you really that retarded?

2 biggest problems.
1. By far the biggest at the moment. Is gameplay. I have heard from so many differnt players that the gameplay now is so bad they just don't even try. Allegiance is more of a chore then fun. Although I do understand what they are saying and agree. If all those people that say that. Decided to play instead of not. I bet the gameplay level would increase a lot in a very short time. That isn't much of a realistic possibility. I am not really sure what can be done to fix this problem. I know the "We can train people more" Problem I am seeing the most. The Voobs just won't listen. So they just stay that way. Then it gets to the well wtf is the point.
Best example I can come up with. Chako, he STILL pushes TPs as exp. His reason is to push ops. He loses a lot more then he wins with that idea. Everone tells him to stop and why. Yet he will continue to do it still this day even after of doing it what 3 years?
2. I don't know the "Behind the scenes" of Dev. At this moment it sortof comes off as dead. When it comes off that way it makes the game feel dead. One of the reasons why Allegiance nearly died back in AZ days. I know there is a lot of variables to what is going on. I mean no disrespect.

Command is the problem. I forgot to buy patties this morning when dreg. I hardly comm. I can remember all of the details because I comm so little. i try to stick to 1 faction just so I can remember how that works. I know I'm old and have the memory of a flea, but it's the same with others, I'm sure. Chako prolly had that strat work for him once or twice, so now he is in the habit of doing it. Vanca switched to TF just before launch and then garret joined him. I had a newb and a faction I never comm. I ask the newb to defend as our op is being decimated and he rips back after the con and 1 miners are dead.
So what do I hear after the game ends? "you should have bought patties". "Why didn't you buy pattied"? "You know, Dreglar needs patties right from the start." Now, do you think I want to try commanding anytime soon?
Even if we have to reduce the factions until we get better commanders, it's worth it to save the game. I never liked commanding, but I have lately just to keep people on the servers. The ones that want to command, need to have it easier so they will stick to it.

I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

Remember, what I say is IMO always. If I say that something sucks, it actually means "I think it sucks" OK?
